Stocks recover as Nasdaq leads gains All three of the major market averages rose, recovering from two days of losses, as investors stepped back in. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite paced the early gains helped by Bed Bath & Beyond's 11% jump ahead of its strategic update due Wednesday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 were marginally higher. In commodities, oil slipped 3% to the $93 per barrel level.
